COLANGELO, Maria Assunta (nee Lorenzo) – Passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, on Saturday March 16, 2024 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of 73 years to the late Donato (2020) and cherished mother of Carmine (Martha) Colangelo, Antonietta (Frank) Gruosso and Miguel ‘Mike’ (Anna Maria) Colangelo. Loving Nonna of Adriana (Tom) Cottringer, Marcelo (Sandra) Gruosso, Alex (Kerri) Colangelo, Marcela (Ryan) Michaels, Delena Colangelo, Carlos Colangelo and Bisnonna of Sabrina, Mateo, Marco, Maximo, Clara and Elizabeth. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Maria Lorenzo as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Francesco and Filomena (nee Radice) Lorenzo, brothers Donato (Angelina) Lorenzo, Giuseppe Lorenzo, sister Margherita (Vito) Colangelo, parents in-law Paolo Colangelo and Anna Maria (nee Corbo), brothers in-law Antonio (Maddalena) Colangelo, Domenico (Maria Giuseppa) Colangelo, Giuseppe (Angela Maria) Colangelo, Leonardo ((Lucia) Colangelo, Salvatore ((Maria) Colangelo, Francesco ( Beatrice) Colangelo, sisters Donata Maria (Vincenzo) Cuviello, Vita Crecenza (Vincenzo) Telesca and Angela Maria (Carmine) Radice. Maria adored her grandchildren and was a big part of their lives. She was an avid gardener and an amazing cook with her specialties being homemade pasta, pizza and her own homemade sauce. She loved caring for others. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visitation will be held Tuesday March 19, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated Wednesday, March 20 2024, at 10:30 am at the funeral home, with the Rite of Entombment to follow at Fairview Mausoleum.
