The passing of Marguerite Marcia (Langille) Gratto, age 84, River John, occurred Saturday, March 18th, 2023 in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.
She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothea Langille. She was born April 26th,1938 at home on the Mountain Road in River John and lived all her life in the area.
Mom worked on the family farm and then at Crossley Carpet Mill in Truro for a number of years. Mom was happiest at home with family. She is survived by son, Ossie; daughter, Paulette (Douglas) Sutherland; sister, Audrey (James) Langille; foster brother, Lloyd (Joanne) MacPherson; numerous nieces and nephews. Step grandchildren, Dawn (Carey Chernoff), Dale (Greg Foster), Allan (Trish Hudson) and step great grandchildren, Ellis Chernoff, Henry Sutherland.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Stanley Burns Gratto; brothers Murdock and Frank. With declining health and COVID restrictions, she greatly enjoyed seeing the latest pictures and videos of Ellis and Henry.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche with interment taking place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for mom in her final days at the LFMH. Donations may be made to the Mountain Road Cemetery, River John or a charity of choice.
