Marguerite Mary ‘Marg’ Burgess of Wallaceburg passed away peacefully at the CKHA in Chatham on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the age of 79. Marguerite was the daughter of the late Emiel & Margaret (Van Spybrooke) Verschoore. Beloved husband of 59 years to Jim. Loving mother of Ric Burgess, Karen Baxter (John) and Jason Burgess (Kaylen). Doting Grandma to Brad, Brandon, Jeannine, Jace, Sophia and Hudson. Dear sister of Helen Verschoore and the late Ralph Verschoore. She will be deeply missed by her dog Buddy. Marg was a hardworking woman who loved farming, especially with her father. Her favorite places were Trinidad, Aruba and the fish pond in her back yard. When not farming Marg had worked at the Point Edward Charity Casino, Sarnia Unemployment Office and cleaned various homes and industrial offices. Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, October 18. The funeral will be held at the funeral home at 11 am on Thursday. Interment to follow at Duthil Cemetery. If desired, donations to Wilkesport United Church, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sarnia – Lambton or the VON of Sarnia – Lambton may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231.
