With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Willrich at the age of 96. Devoted wife of Derwyn for 69 years, who was her main caregiver as she struggled with Dementia. Loving mother of Gary (Joanne) Willrich, Dawn Parente (Fred Oliff), and Brian (Myrna) Willrich, and grandmother to Jennifer (Rob) Lane, Marcus Parente, Eddy Parente, Kyle (Cindra) Willrich, Brittany (Andrew) McDonald, and Emily (J.D.) Shaw. She was great-grandmother to Joseph, Charlotte, Sadie, Mira, Mae, Arlington, Grant, and Maritza. Predeceased by her parents Barsom and Maritza Krikorian, and brothers George (Doris) Krikorian, and Abe (Valerie) Krikorian. Daughter-in-law of the late Marjorie and Arlington Willrich. Sister-in-law of the late Vern (Jean) Willrich, Arlene (the late Jim) Bailey, Donna (Tom) Turner, the late Ron (Sharon) Willrich, the late Robert Willrich, and the late Carol (Graham) Miller. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, (especially Sharon with whom she had a special bond), nephews, and extended family and friends. Margaret grew up in the Hamilton area after her parents immigrated from Armenia. She studied art in school and although she later produced some lovely watercolors, her talent as a seamstress became her main passion. Besides sewing for a couple of clients on a regular basis, she enjoyed creating beautiful wedding dresses and making clothes and countless Hallowe’en costumes for her children and grandchildren. Margaret was a great supporter of her grandchildren’s athletic activities, and also enjoyed many years of ballroom dancing with Derwyn. Many thanks to the staff at Extendicare in Hamilton for their wonderful care of mom during her time there. Private cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Southcote 53, 534 Garner Road East, Ancaster, on Sunday, November 26th from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Hamilton and Halton.
