Memorial Donation
Margaret Evelyn Thibault (Smith), previously a resident of Wallaceburg and the Port Lambton area, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, in London at the age of 98.
She was the beloved wife of the late Garnet Thibault (2021) for almost 74 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family – her daughters Linda (Max) Draper and Carol Ann (Ross) Toman; her grandchildren Shane (Cimi) Draper, Andrea (Jim) Pelipiak, Patrick (Katlyn) Toman, Katelyn (Carwyn) Jones, and Nathan (Laura) Toman; her 10 great grandchildren as well as her older sister Dorothy Gonyou, sister-in-law Marguerite Smith and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Winnifred (Bastow) Smith, brothers Stanley (Janet) Smith and Jim Smith, sister Betty (Glen) Bulloch, brother-in-law Calvin Gonyou, sister-in-law Dora (Herb) Arnold and brother-in-law Ken (Mary) Thibault.
Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Marion Villa 5th Floor, who cared for Margaret for almost three years.
The late Margaret Thibault rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
A private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery near Sombra. An opportunity to join the family for a celebration of Margaret’s life will be available later in the spring.
