With heartfelt sorrow the family of Margaret Shermeto, announces her passing on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Champlain Manor, Orillia, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Henry Shermeto (2007). Loving and devoted mother of Jim (Kathy), Stephen (Angie), Michael (Anna), Dennis (Liz). Adored grandmother of Laura and Emily; Sarah and TJ; Bob, Andrew, Alexandra and Ryan; Gregory, Bradley and Nikolas Henry and great grandmother to Penelope, Owen, Leo & Mia.
Margaret enjoyed many activities during her lifetime. She was an avid knitter, an enthusiastic gardener and loved to bake cookies and tarts for her family, especially for her grandchildren. She and Henry wintered in Arizona for many years and enjoyed summers at their home on Lake Simcoe. Margaret will also be dearly missed by her siblings and her large extended family. Margaret will be in all our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King Street East, Oshawa). A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario. Condolences may be shared at www.armstrongfh.ca
