101 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare Emara Centre. Beloved wife of 69 years to the late Andrew Kominar (2016). Dear mother of Robert Kominar (Laure), Janice Kominar, Gayle Kominar and Tamye Machina (David). Loving grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Survived by her brother-in-law Steve Kominar. Dear sister of the late Bill Lucas, Paul and Gus Lukacs. Margaret was born in Kobeliarovo, Slovakia in 1922 and emigrated to Canada at the age of three with her family in 1925. After meeting Andy, they married in 1947 and were the proud owners and operators of The Chicken Court Restaurant, a Downtown Windsor destination for 41 years.
A special thanks to the staff in the T2B Palliative Care Unit of Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare on Prince Road for the kind and compassionate care they gave to our mom during her brief stay there.
Visitation at Families First South Windsor, 3260 Dougall Avenue on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Committal Service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens followed by cremation. Margaret’s ashes will be laid to rest with her late husband Andy at a later date.
