Ballard, Margaret Jane «Peggy»
– Antigonish, NS passed away June
7th, 2023, at home. Born in Brooklyn, New York,
she was the daughter of the late Michael and Vivian Connolly. She
moved with her family to Nova Scotia in 1965.
Peggy was a home maker most of her life and traveled around
the globe with her late husband, Richard, as he worked in the power
industry in places such as Saudi Arabia. She also traveled
in India, Kashmir, and Ireland.
Sharp till the end, she did the New York Times crossword
every day and read extensively.
She is survived by sons, Richard, Dartmouth; Michael
(Candace), Antigonish; and Mark (Mary), Antigonish; grandchildren,
Sarah (Tom) Gallos, Vivika, Jacob, Shane (Meaghan), and Madeline
(Nick) Hughes; and four great-grandchildren; siblings, Sam (Lillian),
Mary (late Frank), Michael (Dorothy), William (Carol), and Robert
(late Jackie).
Cremation has taken place. There will be no
visitation or funeral service at Peggy’s
request.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of C.L. Curry
Funeral Services, 135 College Street, Antigonish, Nova
Scotia.
