HERMAN, MARGARET (nee Simai) – It is with heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of our mother at the age of 90, on Monday, July 17, 2023 in Welland. Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Louis. She is survived by her four loving daughters; Joy D’Onofrio (John), Patty Sciarra (Tony), Carolyn Forster (Mark) and Christine Herman (Kevin Skuta). She is the loving grandmother of Jennifer D’Onofrio (Brian), Johnathan D’Onofrio (Cassandra), Justin Forster (Timara), Angelique and Skylar Skuta and the cherished great-grandmother of Hannah, Madison and Lilly. Margaret is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Bill and Sandy Simai of Burlington. Margaret is predeceased by her infant daughter Cathy (1956), her parents Steve and Anna Simai, her sister Betty Swartz (Joe) and her brother Steve (Velma). Margaret was born in Port Colborne, Ontario where she met Louis and they were married in 1953. They are now reunited in heaven to be together forever. Mom was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, always putting her family first. She will remain in our hearts forever. Our family, would like to thank Seasons Retirement Home in Welland for the wonderful care they provided to mom. The Herman family will receive family and friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main St. Welland, Ontario on Friday, July 21st from 1- 3 p.m. with a Funeral Service taking place at 3:00 p.m. in the Cudney Chapel. There will be a private family interment at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences at www.cudneyfuneralhome.com.
