Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Mom, Gramma, Great Gramma and Sister on Friday, July 14th, 2023.
Marg passed away with family by her side at the age of 80 years at the Portage District General Hospital.
Marg was one of those people who always helped people in whatever capacity she could. She started by training at the Brandon Mental Health Centre. She moved to Ninette Manitoba where she worked on the TB ward at the Ninette Sanatorium. She lived for a few years in the Maritimes but moved back to Manitoba and settled in Portage. She worked for Home Care as well as the Manitoba Developmental Centre. She enjoyed many years working at the Portage District General Hospital in the Occupational Therapy Department. While working at the hospital, she became part of the executive with the CUPE Local. She was an advocate for the rights of workers and enjoyed the challenge.
She enjoyed camping, reading, gardening and sewing. She loved her flowers and she was an excellent seamstress. She sewed countless wedding and bridesmaid dresses, as well as Halloween costumes for family. Family relied on her to mend the tears and replace those zippers!
She loved her pets, whether it was a loving dog or a cranky cat. She was always the first one up in the morning to enjoy her coffee and watch the morning sun and the birds outside. She was the first one you heard from on Christmas morning. In addition to always being there for us, her door was always open to anyone in need. She would help in whatever way she could, putting others before herself. She spent her final years living in Westbourne with Randy where she could still enjoy the flowers and talk with neighbors.
Marg is survived by her sons Randy (Lois), Aaron (Michelle), Rob (Elaine), sister-in-law Yvonne, brother Tom (Corinne) sister Sandy (Brad) as well as stepchildren, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and all her nieces and nephews.
We will always love and miss you!
A private family interment has taken place at the St. Bede’s Anglican Cemetery, Kinosota, Manitoba, with Rev. Jona Weitzel officiating.
Ronald Moffit Memorial Services was entrusted with arrangements.
