Marcus Justin Robert Howell came into this world on a stormy night, born in an ambulance near Benton on January 3rd, 1995, Fast and furious.
His life, ended in much the same way in a tragic accident near Dawson Creek, BC, on October 11th, 2024, at the age of 29.
Leaving to mourn his adopted Parents/grandparents Marilyn and Nathan Howell, Biological Father Jonathan Howell, Step Mother Crystal Howell, Biological Mother Stephanie Starkes, Grandmother Ethel Starkes, Brothers – Jason (Tracey), Justin and Samuel, Step Brothers – Alexander & Gage, Sisters – Julianne (Eddie) and Janeen (Chuck), Nieces – Lexi, Gracie and Emily, Nephew – Michael (Brud)
and a large circle of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends & co workers and a special friend Megan Haley.
Predeceased by his Nephew – Baby Nathan James Howell
and Grandfather – Stephen Starkes.
Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, 2pm – 4pm & 7pm -9pm
Funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 2pm from St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Badger’s Quay with Rev. Renee Easton officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
Marcus was adopted at birth and raised by his two loving grandparents Marley and Nat, who he loved dearly and called Mom and Pop. He grew up in a nurturing home filled with warmth and affection, alongside five other children he cherished as his brothers and sisters. Each of them played unique and significant roles in his life, helping to shape who he was and the person he became.
Marcus shared a close and special bond with his biological mother, Stephanie, who remained an important part of his life.
Their relationship was filled with cherished memories and precious moments that they both held close to their hearts.
Marcus was known for his fun-loving, silly, and compassionate nature. He was always there for others, radiating kindness and a sense of humour. A hardworking young man, he spent two summers in Dawson Creek, BC, working alongside his big brother Jason and Father Jonathan. He later took on a role at Peter Brothers where he worked at the asphalt plant. Like his siblings, Marcus wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. He firmly believed that if you wanted something in life, you had to earn it through hard work.
Marcus’s life was also filled with passion and adventure. He embraced every experience with a fearless, thrill-seeking spirit, living life to the fullest. His love for animals was unmistakable, especially when it came to his beloved dogs, Hulk and Nova, who were more than just pets—they were family. He found joy in the great outdoors, whether through sports, hunting, or fishing, and these pursuits allowed him to connect deeply with nature and the people he loved.
His kind spirit, warm smile, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed. Marcus’s legacy is one of love, adventure, and unwavering dedication. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love for family and friends was evident in every aspect of his life, and anyone who knew him was touched by his genuine care and kindness.
