CNOCKAERT, Marcel Cyrill (Nov. 24, 1951 – Jan. 20, 2023)
It is with great sadness, that we the family announce the sudden passing of our much-loved husband, father, Bampa and friend, Marcel Cyrill Cnockaert, after a brief illness, at L.H.S.C.- Victoria Campus, London, on January 20, 2023, at the age of 71. Marcel was born and raised his entire life in Tillsonburg. Marcel was a proud tobacco farmer who took pride in every crop including the 2022 season that was planted and worked very hard his entire life. If Marcel was not in the fields you would find him somewhere outside enjoying the outdoors. Marcel is survived by his much-loved wife of 44 years, Diane Marie (Schram) Cnockaert. Lovingly remembered by his children Judy and her husband Darryl Knight, of Tillsonburg; Marc Cnockaert and his partner Ashley Follington, of Simcoe and children: Joseph, Jason, Olivia, Sadie, and Marley. Predeceased by his father Marcel Cnockaert (Sr.) in 2006.
In keeping with Marcel’s expressed wishes, burial will take place in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Private immediate family funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes. Everyone who knew Marcel is invited to share favourite photos or letters of condolence via Marcel’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com. Memorial donations towards an education trust for Marcel’s grandchildren would be appreciated by the family (by cheque made out to “Marc Cnockaert”) or by contacting the Maurice J.
