Peacefully passed away on July 2nd, 2024. Reunited with her beloved husband Miloslav (2021).
Cherished mother of Marina Ivanovic and husband Branislav, and predeceased by Miloslav (2014). Loving Grandmother of Marco and Ana.
Best friend and sister to Milka (Janko) Medvedj.
Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Jasna, Zdenka, Dusko, Lidia, Ana, Vlatko, Miroslav, and Marija.
Mara and Miloslav immigrated to Canada in 1999, and settled in Windsor. Her journey was not an easy one, but her unwavering strength and faith in God carried her through even the darkest times. Her endless faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Mara’s resilience was matched only by her love of her family, especially her grandchildren. She made the brave decisions to come to Canada, leaving behind all that was familiar, to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Mara’s kitchen was her domain, and the joy that cooking and baking for family and friends brought her was never ending.
Mara leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and faith that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
If you so desire, donations to the Slovak Nativity Church would be appreciated by the family.
Visitation will be held on Friday July 5, 2024 from 4pm – 7pm at Families First, South Windsor, 3260 Dougall Ave. (519-969-5841). On Saturday July 6th, friends and family are welcome to
