Manuel Cabral Lindo passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home on Saturday September 14th, 2024, at 88 years of age. Born on October 19th, 1935, in Sete Cidades, Soa Miguel Azores, Portugal. Manuel was the son of Antonio Cabral Lindo and Maria da Costa Moniz. He was the brother of Ascenciao (Manuel) Medeiros, and Antonio (Maria) Lindo.
He was the foundation of the Lindo family for over 60 years. Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Elvira Da Graca Lindo, and four children Emmanuel (Manny), Antonio (Tony), Edgar (Dianne) and Naria Lindo. He was a beloved grandfather to Katie-Lynn, Robbie, Bradly, Amy, Tricia, Adrian, Christian, and Julian Lindo. He was also the Great Grandfather to Gemma, Payton-Rae, Ally-Mae, and Wyatt.
Manuel immigrated to Canada on January 11th, 1967, from Portugal with his family. He immediately started working on a farm in Harrow until he learned the English language and then started working as a carpenter – marking the beginning of Manuel Lindo Carpentry, where he worked until retirement. He was a master carpenter. Manuels work kept him busy throughout Windsor and Es County. Manuel will be remembered for his skillful Carpentry skills, generosity, and loving dedication to his family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bergeron and the team from Hospice for their great work and care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Manuel’s memory to The Hospice of Windsor-Es or The Alzheimer’s Society.
Visitation will be held at Families First Funeral Home South Windsor (3260 Dougall Avenue) 519-969-5841 on Monday, September 16th, 2024, from 3-5pm & 7-9pm. Parish prayers will be held at 4:30pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, at Our lady of Mount Carmel from 10am until time of a Christian Mass burial at 11am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
