1935-2024
It is
with heavy hearts and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce
the passing of Malcolm Barteaux «Mack» Frail, of
Centreville, on Saturday, June 29, 2024 in the Valley Hospice,
Kentville. He was 89.
Mack was born in Centreville and
after travelling and working in Canada for a few years, he settled
back in Centreville. He worked as a mail carrier with Canada Post,
owned and operated Frail’s Valley Nursery and Garden Centre
and was a historical author who wrote for The Centre Post. Mack was
the author of the book titled, The History of
Centreville.
He is survived by his wife,
Sheila (O’Connell) (Haggerty) Frail; stepchildren, Shawn
(Alicia) Haggerty, Coldbrook; Tanya Haggerty, Logan Lake, BC; foster
son, Alan; grandchildren, Emmett and Adalynn; sister, Rachel (Jim)
McDonald, Ontario; sister-in-law, June (Ronald, deceased) and favorite
uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents,
Wallace and Mabel (Isaac) Frail, he was predeceased by stepson, Todd
Haggerty; sisters, Mabel Bullock, Mary (Gordon) Mack; brothers, John
(Betty), Ronald (June), Robert (Bernice) and Gerald
(Linda).
Visitation will be held at 1:00
p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday,
July 5, 2024 in the Centreville Baptist Church, Pastor Emma Batumbya
and Reverend Doctor Carol Anne Janzen officiating. A reception will
follow. For those unable to attend, a livestream of the service will
be available. Interment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery,
Lakeville. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke
Foundation or Centreville Baptist Church. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Online condolences and
