Peacefully, in her beloved home on May 16, 2024, Magdalena (Leny)Wilson passed away surrounded by her loved ones, especially her caregivers, stepson Dave and his partner Dawn. Beloved wife of the Late Douglas (Doug) Wilson who passed away in 2020. She is survived by Doug’s children, Dave Wilson (Dawn Cameron DeBuck), Judy Wilson and Diana Wilson as well as grandchildren, Jeff (Maggie), Joshua (Alyia) and Danielle (Tom) Cornish and great-granddaughter, Brylee. Also, predeceased by Doug’s sons, Douglas Wilson and Danny Wilson. She will be greatly missed by her several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, Adam (1979) and Anna (nee Lemche) Kessler (1978), her siblings: Sepp (Josef) (1975), Hans (Johann) (2000), Barbara Ruter (2012), Annie Friedrich (2020), Adam (1995), Tony (2019), Frank (1976) and Heinz Kessler (2022).
Leny enjoyed her flower gardens, watching World Cup soccer games and old time classic movies, as well as looking after her cat “Fluffy”. One of her favourite pastimes was finding a great bargain at a thrift store.
There will be a private family memorial service with an inurnment service at Kinglake Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the Wilson family, in lieu of flowers and can be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home (519-842-5221) or directly online.
