It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Aunt, Mae Decker (nee Brown) at the age of 84 years. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mae was born in Belldown’s Point to Archibald and Martha Brown in 1938, she was the last remaining sibling of her family.
Mae leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 66 years, Aubrey; her children Maude Decker, Blanche (Lamont) Thornhill; Leon Decker and Daughter-in-law Jaime-Lyn Thornhill; her grandchildren Miranda Thornhill (Corey), Terri-Lynn Decker, Bobbi-Jean Biggin and Kaila Biggin; her great grandchildren, Eric Thornhill, Emma Thornhill, Shaye Biggin, Chloe MacDonald, Makenna MacDonald, Jesse Biggin and Alex Biggin. Also leaving to mourn, her Sisters-in-law Claudine Brown, Marie Parsons, Serina Blanchard, Annie Payne, Marion Parsons (Gerald), Patsy White (Lyman) and Brothers-in law, Henry Decker (Rita) and Anthony Decker (Linda). She will be forever missed by her fur baby Marley.
Mae was predeceased by her parents Archibald and Martha Brown, her Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Thomas and Mabel Decker, her sons Calvin Decker and Rodney Thornhill; sisters Rosie Gilley (Melvin), Annie Payne (Carl); brothers Edgar Brown (Ura) and Simon Brown; bothers-in-law, Alex Decker (Evelina), Manuel Payne (Bride), Isaac Blanchard, Joe Payne and Ron Parsons; and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
The family would like to thank her present homecare workers, Emma Maynard and Carlie Verge whom she loved dearly; past homecare workers Jaime-Lyn Thornhill, Jackie Shears, Brittany White, Nina Keough, Ada Brake, Amy Smith and Elaine Anderson; the nurses who cared for her during her illness, Donna Keough, Tiffany Hutchings and Tammy Shears; her Fabry nurse Jason Knott; and Dr Bowen for caring for her over the years. We also would like to thank her niece Lydia White for all her kindness and help and being there for the family.
Mom was an avid church goer; she was in the choir and had a very strong faith. She always helped whenever she could. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, she had much love for everyone. Her kindness will never be forgotten.
Visitation will take place from the Anglican Church in Parsons Pond, NL. on Friday January 13,2022 and Saturday January 14,2022 where also the funeral service will take place on Sunday at 11:00am with Rev.
