Mom was born on July 22, 1931 on the family farm in Haywood, Manitoba. After completing her schooling, she enrolled at the St. Boniface School of Practical Nursing. Following her training in St. Boniface and Sainte-Rose-du-Lac, she graduated as an LPN and worked in the Portage, Carman and St. Claude Hospitals. On June 7, 1952 she married the love of her life Alfred Pineau in the Haywood Church. They settled down in St. Claude where they raised their family and lived out the rest of their lives.
Mom loved touring the country with Dad in their motorhome, fishing and camping with their Good Sam friends, soaking up the sun in Arizona, Texas, Florida and Mexico, where they forged many cherished friendships with fellow Snowbirds. She loved flowers, sewing, cooking and opening up her home to anyone who needed a meal or a place to stay. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff, nurses and doctors at the St. Claude Pavillon for the exceptional care and compassion given to our Mom during her 9 years there.
