In loving memory of Lynda Morris
May 1, 1962 – September 10, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynda Lee Denise (Smith) Morris on Sunday, September 10, 2023, peacefully at her home in Listowel, in her 62nd year. Lynda was a beloved spouse, parent, nana, great-nana, sibling, and a friend.
Lynda was passionate about the beach and the outdoors, and spent her free time looking for sea glass, knitting blanket, painting, and at the casino. She had a magnificent way of making friends where she went, as seen when she worked at Walmart, amassing many friends who she referred to as ‘her girls’. Her favourite flower was the sunflower for its symbolism of positivity, happiness, and hope.
Lynda is survived by her loving husband Wayne Morris, children Angela Lynn of Grand Bend, and Travis Morris of Listowel, and son-in-law Darryl Neville. Nana of Hunter, Logan, Ashlynn, and Addison, and great-nana of Korra. Loved and remembered also by her brother Dale Smith of Toronto, stepmother Marian Smith of Tillsonburg, her dog Harley, and by her extended family. Predeceased by her father Robert Smith, mother Florence (Ellacott) Gill, sister Christine Smith-Faria, and her very special grandmother Ella Smith.
A Celebration of Lynda’s life and love will be held in Listowel, and the details announced as they become available.
Lynda’s family is deeply grateful for the incredible support and care given by Dr. Barb Matthews, not only during these last difficult weeks, but for the care she has provided their family for so many years.
Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
