Obituary For Lucienne Marie Julie Forcier
Lucienne Marie Julie Forcier (nee Poirier), passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 98 years.
Lucienne was born December 31, 1925, along with her twin sister Lucia, in Port Daniel, Quebec.
In 1927, Wenceslas (Lucienne’s father), wishing to move his family to the Peace Country, journeyed alone to Alberta. Lucienne, who was one of ten children, followed in October of 1929 along with four of her siblings. The rest of the family was able to move one year later, in 1930, after all had been sold. The family settled in Lac Magloire, AB.
Lucienne married Jean-Luc Forcier on July 4, 1950. Donnelly, AB was their home for 52 wonderful years. In 2002, Lucienne became a widow after 52 years of marriage. Lucienne resided between Donnelly and Falher, AB for the next 15 years. Then she moved to the Grande Prairie Care Centre until her death.
Lucienne enjoyed life and her family. She loved her flowers and gardening. She loved to knit and many people were gifted with her beautiful creations. Lucienne was a gentle, caring and considerate woman with much wisdom and patience. Many hours were spent outdoors by their fire pit. Lucienne loved to travel and the outdoors. Numerous camping trips were enjoyed. She was a tremendous cook and all were always welcomed in her home. Her grandchildren say her cookies were the best and we all agree.
Lucienne will be very much missed by her children: Denis (Despo), Robert (Irene), Henri (Merlyn), and Jacques (Rose); grandchildren: Doris Forcier, Dannys Forcier (Kris), Marc Forcier (Cara), Daniel Demeule (Heather), Natalie Forcier, and Alexis Jean Forcier (Valerie); great-grandchildren: Jessica Thibodeau, Annabelle Thibodeau, and David Demeule; sister Jana Leslie of Fort St. John, BC, as well as nieces and nephews.
Lucienne was predeceased by her husband Jean-Luc, daughter Dorine, son-in-law Roger Demeule, and grandson Stefane Demeule.
A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 1:00pm at Sacred Heart Church in Donnelly AB, with Interment to follow.
We will miss you Mom and we love you dearly. May you rest in peace.
