It is with deep sorrow and much lov that we mourn the passing of Lucia Figliola (nee Giannini) on September 16th, 2024 in her 96th year.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Pietro Antonio Figliola and her parents Maria & Fedele Giannini.
Beloved mother of Giuseppe «Joe» Fedele Figliola (Nancy) .
She also leaves to mourn her cherished grandchildren Peter (Tiffany), Lucianna (Francesco), Stephen and great- grandchildren Mia, Talia, and Alessio.
Lucia was born in Roseto Valfortore, Pr. Foggia on December 9th 1928. After her wedding and 9 years after the birth of her only child Giuseppe, they started their new life together in Toronto in 1964, becoming residents in Mimico with the purchase of their first and only home. A home that always had an open door and welcomed everyone. Lucia was a very strong woman who had a work ethic like no other. She played a huge role in raising her grandchildren in their early years and has helped shape them into who they are today. Lucia believed that hard work paid off and that nothing in life should be taken for granted. She was the matriarch of the family and very rarely minced her words. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 20, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, 63 Mimico Aveneue, Toronto, Ontario
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday September 21st 2024 at 9:30 am at St. Leo’s Roman Catholic Church, Mimico., 277 Royal York Road, Etobicoke, Ontario, M8V 2V8
