It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of Lorin
Robert Hersey age 51 of Saint John, NB. announces his passing. He
passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday
November 29, 2024, at 10:54am, with his mother and sister by his side
after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
Lorin was born in Perth-Andover, NB, on April 20, 1973. He was the son
of the late Kenneth Joeman Hersey of Lake Edward and Valerie
(Beaulieu) Page of Perth Andover, NB. In addition to his father,
Lorin was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Elmer and Louaina
(Lennon) Hersey. His maternal grandparents Richard and Kate Fournier
of Perth-Andover. His uncle Glenwood Fournier, and aunt Linda Goodine
who Lorin loved and missed greatly.
He is survived by his loving mother Valerie Page of Saint John, NB,
His sister Marisa Hersey-Misner (Clayton) of Saint John, NB, several
aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
As long as we can remember, Lorin loved country music, and he was an
avid collector of country, gospel and other genres of music. He
enjoyed shopping, flea markets, Christmas, as well as walking the
streets of Saint John and Perth-Andover while enjoying all that the
communities have to offer.
We would like to say thank you to Dr. Solomon Ugabi, the doctors,
nurses, and volunteers of the palliative care unit at the Saint John
Regional Hospital for their support and caring for Lorin during his
last days on earth. A big Thank You to Victoria Petley-Belyea for
your friendship, support, and assistance you gave Lorin during
difficult challenges. Lorin was so grateful for all you did for him.
Thank you to family and friends for your support during this difficult
time.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Friday from 6:30
– 8:30 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024
at 11 am from Brunswick Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St.
Mary of the Angels Catholic Cemetery.
Lorin and his family members were born with a rare eye condition
called Aniridia. Donations to the Canadian Aniridia Foundation at
www.aniridia.ca would be appreciated. Otherwise, you can make
a donation to CNIB and the CNIB Guide Dog Program, or to the local
food bank.
