Loretta Whiteman (Tremblay, Fraser)
August 12, 1932 – October 12, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Loretta at Porteous Lodge. Loretta is survived by her children Valerie (Gord) Leard, Dale (Maridel) Tremblay, Bev Tremblay (Daughter-in-Law),Verna (Keith) Prew, Floyd Whiteman, Jean Diecksmeier (Daughter-in-Law) and her 10 grandchildren Lance, Lyndon (Kelsey), Ryan, Tina (Mike), Michael, Gary, Ryan Ahna and Elisa. Loretta is survived by her two precious great-granddaughters Carter and Parker. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her two husbands Clarence Tremblay and Ken Whiteman, 2 children Doug Tremblay and Neil Whiteman, son-in-law Derek Osborne, her parents Hattie and John Fraser and siblings Royden Fraser and Jack Fraser.
Loretta was born to Hattie and John Fraser on the homestead near Biggar. Sk. She was one of 5 children Rovden Fraser, Norman Slimmons, Rubv Anhelher and Jack Fraser. In 1950 she graduated from Marvel Hairdressing School and opened up a Hair Salon next to the Coop Store on Main Street in Biggar. In 1951 she married Clarence Tremblay and they had 4 children. March 1956 tragedy struck when Clarence was killed in a CNR accident in Watrous, Sk. Loretta met and married Ken Whiteman March 8, 1958 and they moved to Saskatoon, SK and had 2 more children. Loretta and Ken square danced at the Manhatten on Saturday nights, she loved bowling at the K. G. bowling alley on Wednesday nights, lots of camping and fishing at Greig Lake and family gatherings. Ken and Loretta moved to Victoria, BC and then in 1972 moved to Calgary, AB. Loretta loved old country music, they followed old country bands around Alberta. They frequently vacationed in Florida with friends. She vacationed in Hawaii. Loretta moved back to Saskatoon in November 2015. Loretta will be remembered for her strength through adversity, love of country music, her great laugh, fun and caring personality, standing up for what she believed in and her fairness.

Loretta will be missed dearly. The family of Loretta Whiteman would like to express a special thank you to the Staff at Porteous Lodge for the wonderful care. Also a thank you to Saskatoon Funeral Home for the guidance through this difficult time. As per Loretta’s request there will be no funeral at this time.
