It is with great sadness that the family of Lois Marion (Fox) Clark announce her passing on June 2, 2023 at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville.
Our mother was born on May 18, 1935 to Ernest William Fox and Beumont Elizabeth (Bell) Fox.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Wilson D. Clark, brothers Merle, Allison and Marshal and sister, Marjorie Currie as well as a still born brother and infant siblings Eugene, Mavis and Avis.
She is survived by her sister, Nelma Rosevear, children: Everett Clark, Avis (Mark) Ward, Robina (Harold) Sharkey, and Ernest (Krista) Clark; grandchildren: Kyle Clark, Billy Clark, Nicholas Sharkey, Tyler (Jenna) Ward, Andrew Clark, Riley Clark, Kameshia Ward, Victoria Sharkey, Dylan Clark and Lanie Clark; great grandchildren: Austin Clark, Alexis Clark, Audrey Sharkey, Arabella Champion, Brooks Ward, and Walker Ward; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mom had a 32 year teaching career. She began teaching in a one room school house in Lindsay and ended her career teaching at Carleton North High School in Bristol. The last 19 and a half years of her teaching career was spent teaching students with cognitive delays. This work was very satisfying for her and she loved it deeply. During her time as a teacher Mom completed two degrees, a Bachelor of Teaching (1976) and a Bachelor of Education (1978) through summer school, and evening classes in the spring and fall. She also completed and received a Principal’s certificate.
Our mother completed a 3 year Bible Course from Liberty Home Bible Institute in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1980. Mom had a deep and meaningful relationship with her saviour the Lord Jesus Christ and was an active member of the various churches she attended throughout her life. She also taught a number of Bible study courses in a number of places and she enjoyed this very much.
After her retirement from teaching, Mom returned to selling Avon. Over the next 15 or so years, she excelled in this area as well. She enjoyed meeting people and talking to them as they made and received their orders.
Our mother touched many people during her 88 years on earth. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
Visitation will be at the Carleton Funeral Home in Jacksonville from 4 – 8 on Friday, June 9. The funeral service will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville at 2 pm on Saturday, June 10. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fawcett Cemetery, Bath Baptist Church or the River Valley Cancer Support Group.
Arrangements under the direction and care of Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB.
