Lloyd Murray
MURRAY, Lloyd Grant – Age 77, Brentwood, passed away in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Lloyd was born on April 14, 1947, in Scotsburn, the son of the late William Angus and Annie Elizabeth (McEwan) Murray.
Lloyd worked for Scotsburn Dairy for more than forty years. He began his career with Scotsburn in the feed mill and worked his way up to Sales Manager. When he retired, Lloyd drove a school bus for several years and was also busy with his own business sealing driveways and plowing in the winter. One of his greatest joys was having his family and friends around, whom he loved to entertain and host at frequent gatherings.
He was involved in the community in his role as President, Salmon River Parks and Recreation, and was a popular former member of the Truro Legion, Branch #26. You could also count on finding Lloyd meeting up with his friends at Tim Horton’s at least once a day.
Lloyd will remain dearly loved and always missed by his partner, Jane Greene; sons, Brian Murray, Brookfield, and Scott Murray, Newfoundland; granddaughters, Callie Murray, Onslow, and Gracie Murray, Debert; sister, Betty Cassie, Pictou; brother, Ronnie Murray, New Glasgow.
Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his sister, Jannet.
Donations in Lloyd’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS, with the Right Rev’d David Torraville officiating.
