Lisette (Liz) Marie McGrath (Née Fulham)
A remarkable woman, and beautiful soul, passed peacefully Sunday December 8th, 2024 at Brightshores Hospital in Meaford, ON surrounded by loved ones. As she said many times, she has left this planet and is now on a different plane. Lisette was a loving mom, wife, daughter, sister, grandma, mother-in-law, aunt, sister-in-law and above all a great friend and cherished by all who knew her.
Lisette had a passion for life, and learning, especially about the people who had the pleasure to know her. She was a bright light despite the most difficult challenges. She met them with grace, courage and an unequaled positivity.
She was a maverick, ahead of her time by many decades, and believed in metaphysics and spirituality. She was self-taught and a life-long learner. She wrote a book, Power of Words, before most people had even heard of cognitive restructuring. She was a giver and life coach, and never accepted payment. Her interests were diverse and reflected her love of life. She once enrolled in a Porsche racing course where she was the only woman. She was creative and directed the renovation of our family home at Tyrolean Village into a Medieval-style abode complete with custom oak doors and stained glass she made.
Staff at Brightshores Hospital adored her and said sometimes the highlight of their day was visiting her. Liz and our family are grateful to all of them.
Liz’s wishes were for cremation and an intimate celebration of life in Toronto. The date and time are to be determined. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your local foodbank or homeless shelter, both causes close to her heart.
“Let’s meet in our dreams,” she would say. We will miss her. Her daughters, Jeanette (Risto), Shar (Harry), and brother Richard (Pauline) along with her grandchildren, Shanelle (Nick), Liam, Shane (Kat), many nieces, nephews, sister-in-law and friends.
