Lisa Marion Ennis
1970-2024
It is with profound sadness that we
announce the peaceful passing of Lisa Marion Ennis on May 18, age 53.
Born in Halifax, NS on July 3, 1970, Lisa was a beloved daughter of
Jeanne Marie (Farquhar) Taylor and Michael Joseph
Ennis.
Lisa’s contagious smile
and love of life captivated all who knew her. She was a proud graduate
of Central Kings Rural High in 1991. Aside from school, Lisa was
involved in Girl Guides and Tritons Swim Club; however, some of her
most memorable activities were her enthusiastic participation in both
Special Olympics and the Stage Prophets productions. Lisa embraced
these roles and cherished the lasting connections she made during
these times. Anyone who watched her compete or saw her perform on
stage, could feel her genuine happiness and level of
commitment.
Lisa had a variety of interests,
some of which included travel, dancing, shopping, trips to the spa,
bowling, and listening to music. However, it was family time that gave
Lisa some of her happiest moments: weekly movie trips with her Dad,
visits to the shore with her Mom, or birthday celebrations with her
entire family where she was showered with attention and presents.
These cherished moments enveloped Lisa with feelings of being special
and immensely loved.
Lisa held several fulfilling
employment positions over the years, some of which included, Old
Orchard Inn, Slumber Inn, and Fidelis House. However, working for her
«Big Brother Sean », perhaps was one of her favorites. These
employment opportunities provided Lisa with meaningful social
interactions, which she dearly treasured.
Lisa is survived by her loving
parents; siblings, Sean Christopher Ennis (Colette), Scott Michael
Ennis (Sally), Erica Leanne Easton (Sean); nephews, Morgan, Hayden,
Gavin, Ethan, Luke, Drew and nieces Kaitlyn and Monica. She was
predeceased by her maternal grandfather Benjamin Farquhar
and paternal grandparents Charles and Marion
Ennis.
The family wishes to extend a
heartfelt thank you to the dedicated and loving staff of Community
Living Alternatives Society (CLAS) who provided a second home for
Lisa, caring for her over the years and nurturing her in her final
stages. Additional thanks to both Dr. Wadden and the Community
Assessment Support and Treatment Team (COAST) for their compassionate
care and Valley Hospice who provided comfort to both Lisa and the
family in her final days.
Lisa lived life fully with
innocence and happiness. She was loving, caring, and perceptive of how
people were feeling, often reaching out with a warm hug. We should all
strive to embrace her beautiful vision for life. At the
request of the family, donations can be made in Lisa’s name
to Special Olympics, NS Division, Valley Hospice Foundation, or a
charity of your choosing.
In accordance with the families
wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family celebration of
life will be held at a later date at Holy Cross
Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been
