69 Years
Linda Carol Blanchard (Parenteau), age 69 years passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2024, with her family by her side at the Rosthern Hospital, after battling a short intense struggle with cancer.
Mom was born to Hercule and Aurora Parenteau on July 28, 1954, in Prince Albert, SK She was the eighth out of 10 children born. She met the love of her life at the age of 14 years old at the St. Laurent family picnic. They married on November 27, 1970, in Duck Lake. They lived in Saskatoon for a couple of years and welcomed their firstborn son Dean. They moved to the Blanchard family farm and were blessed with 3 daughters, Tammy, Laurie, and Jody.
Numerous family vacations to Nashville, Chicago, Florida, British Columbia, and their most recent was their trip to the Maritimes.
Her zest for life was seen in her employment in everything she did from restaurants, greenhouses, pool hall, tow truck business, and long-term care facility. Her latest career at Goodwill Manor brought her so much joy. She loved going to work and making everyone’s day brighter by making buns, desserts, and special home-cooked meals. She was a ray of sunshine and her smile made everyone’s day better.
Mom’s most rewarding job was being an amazing wife, mom, grandma, and mere. She was always trying to do the best for her family. Her happy place was sitting at the kitchen table with her family and friends.
In addition to her family, Mom will be missed by her close friends who surrounded her with love, care, and prayer, especially these last couple of months. Even in her final weeks, Mom’s strength, determination, faith, and love shone through.
She will be greatly missed.

It was Mom’s wish that no service be held.
Viewing of her body will be held at Funk’s Funeral Home in Rosthern on
Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M.
followed by a gathering at the Belledrome, Duck Lake.
Interment at Duck Lake Cemetery will be held on July 28, 2024,
followed by a family and friends wiener roast at the farm. Mom’s most favorite thing!
