1951-2023
Linda
Ruth (Roscoe) Hardy – 71 of Berwick, NS passed away in Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 surrounded by her
family. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of late George Roscoe
and Muriel (Wood) Roscoe.
She is
survived by her loving husband of 50 years Graham Hardy, Berwick; son,
George (Shelley) Hardy, Lake Paul; and daughter, Kate (Dale) Whynot,
Kentville; grandchildren, Nicole, Dillon, Cam and Jessie; special
friends, Erin Watson and Troy Hopkins and surrogate granddaughter
Breighanna; sister, Nancy (Oscar) Huntley; half-brothers, Spud (Joan)
Roscoe and Ken (Elaine) Roscoe; numerous nieces and nephews along with
extended family. She was predeceased by half-brother, Richard
Roscoe.
Linda
was an active member of her community over the years including Canning
Baptist Church in her youth and West Halls Harbour Baptist Church
along with Bethany Memorial Baptist Church in Aldershot where she
taught both Sunday School and Explorers.
Linda
Graduated from the Nova Scotia Hospital School of Nursing in 1971 and
worked as a CNA in both Windsor and Kentville before leaving the
profession to raise her two children. Later in life she returned to
the work force as the volunteer coordinator at Grand View
Manor.
She
adored her grandchildren who were the light of her life and loved
spending time with them. Affectionately known as the baby whisperer,
she was happiest with a little one in her
arms.
Special
thank you to all the wonderful VON Home Care who came to her home most
days to provide such great care and shared many laughs, also to Dr.
Gillis, Dr. Keough and nursing staff at Valley Regional Hospital and
Dr. Robin Bustin for many years of personal
care.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation
will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023, in
the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville immediately followed by the
funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Elizabeth Johnson
officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the
Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
