LONG, Linda Ruth (née Gillham) – Passed away peacefully at the Ross Memorial Hospital, on Monday, October 9, 2023. Linda at the age of 76, was the beloved wife to Chesney Long for 55 years. Loving Mum to Samantha Mueller (David) and Alex Long (Lindsay). Cherished Nanny to Matthew, Benjamin, Lydia, and Hudson. Dear sister to Anne Willis, and predeceased by Frances (Rob Scott), and Joey. She will be deeply missed by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Crossing the Atlantic to Canada from England at the age of 19, Linda built a life of friends, family, and community. Linda worked with Ontario Hydro for over 20 years before retiring to Lindsay, where she pursued her love of books and literature as a regular volunteer with the friends of the Lindsay Public Library.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay on Saturday, October 21 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
If desired, a memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Kawartha Lakes, or the Ross Memorial Hospital, which would be appreciated by the family.
