It is with profound sadness that the family announce the passing of Linda Mae Hewston (McGlone) on May 11, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, in her 81st year. Loving beloved wife of Kirk for 61 years. Loving mother to David (Barbara) Michael (Louise) and Karen. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Matthew (Lesley), Patricia, Justin, Connor, Natalie, Myles, and Bryan and Great-Grandma to Graham and number two on the way.
Linda was born and raised in Port Credit to parents, the late James and Kathleen McGlone. She grew up in the middle of her two brothers Ron and the late Bob. Linda met the love of her life at Port Credit High School, got married and started her family. She was a very active member in the community, always volunteering with many charities and always offering her hand to anyone that asked. Linda was also involved with the Church of St. Bride (Anglican) for over 50 years and shared her amazing knowledge and skills to everyone that knew her. Her creativity was shown in so many ways such as her talent of sewing, card making, crafting and so many themed events.
We are heartbroken that we must carry on without her, but her spirit will live on through all of us.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the caring PSWs; Mary-June, Keshia and Pauline that cared for Linda.
Funeral Service will be held at Church of St. Bride- Anglican, 1516 Clarkson Rd., on Thursday May 18, 2023. Time to be confirmed. Interment Springcreek Cemetery.
As Linda volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society for over 35 years, in lieu of flowers, donations to this society would be appreciated by the family.
