Linda’s Obituary
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; passed away peacefully on August 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Brantford General Hospital. Born to Audrey and Kelvin Detheridge, Linda exhibited the qualities that would define her remarkable life – kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, who welcomed her with open arms on the other side.
Linda poured her heart and soul into raising her children, Jon-Paul and Nicole. Her legacy of love lives in them, as well as her beloved granddaughter Dahlia (Greg) and great-granddaughter Remedy, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Linda’s warmth extended beyond her immediate family. She was a loving sister to Patricia, Heather, and Kelly (Kathy), and sister-in-law to Mary (Jimmy), Dino (Mary), Josie (Joe), and Fausto (Marg). Her unconditional love and steadfast presence were sources of comfort that will be deeply missed.
Linda was not only rooted in her community but also in her faith. She was a dedicated member of New Life Pentecostal Assembly in Brantford, where she found solace, purpose, and a sense of belonging. Her involvement in the church’s various programs showcased her commitment to serving others and spreading the message of love and compassion. She taught sewing to anyone willing to learn, she was a well-known lunch mom and classroom helper in her children’s school, and she regularly supplied food and handmade mittens to the homeless.
Linda’s memory will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to inspire and guide generations to come. As we mourn her physical absence, let us also celebrate the beautiful soul that Linda was and the countless lives she touched.
Friends will be welcomed at the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service to honor Linda’s life and legacy will be held in Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the Paris Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations be made to Brantford General Hospital’s Critical Care Unit would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
In the tapestry of life, Linda Leonetti’s thread was woven with love, compassion, and enduring commitment to family and faith. Though she bid farewell to this world, her spirit will forever live on in the memories and hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
