Peacefully at home, as a result of a brief illness, on Friday, August 2, 2024, in her 74th year. Predeceased by husband Elmar Timusk and devoted mother to Laura and Ingrid (Dave). Loving ‘Grandmama’ to kitty Bruce. Partner in crime to sisters Laine (predeceased), Linda (Tonu, predeceased), Luule (Uno), and Liisa (Robert). Committed aunt to David (Cheryl), Merike (Adam), Erik (Pheobe), Alexandra (Matthew), Michael (Jade), Evan (Jenn), and Kristen (Nick). Dearest friend to many, including but not limited to: Bev, Ted and Nancy, her Merrifield friends, Louis, and countless others.
Lilli grew up and lived in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, where she lived her life to the fullest. Lilli’s path led her down a road full of love, adventure, and peaceful respite at her waterfront home on Red Pine Drive where she enjoyed waking up to the beautiful view every morning. Lilli’s zest for life and commitment to her community never dissipated, including when she moved to London, Ontario after the passing of her husband, Elmar, in 2021. Always resilient, Lilli built an active and meaningful life in a new city where she continued to enjoy her love of wine, food, a good mystery, and a challenging game of Scrabble (which she would most likely win).
Mom, your confidence, strength, and ability to find the light in the darkest of places will live on in abundance (and hopefully your unwavering green thumb, too!).
Cremation has taken place. If you feel compelled, please donate in Lilli’s memory to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Foundation, where she served as board member for many years (www.ontariofinnishresthome.ca) or the London Health Sciences Foundation (lhsf.ca). Special thanks to the absolutely wonderful oncology care team at Victoria Hospital and the at-home palliative services provided during her last days.
