Lillian «Lorraine» Powell Obituary
With her family by her side, Lillian “Lorraine” Powell passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Fredericton, NB on June 2, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Edith (nee. Gordon) Henderson.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Albert Powell of 45 years; sons Jason (Sheri) Vautour and Albert Jr. (Crystal) Powell; daughters: Tina (Sean) Chamberlain, Chasity (Emmanuel) Darku, and Tinisha (Andy) Powell-Gallant; grandchildren: Keshia, Isaiah, Niobe, Selina, Isis, Persia, Ayanna, Shania, Odysseus, Wyatt; great-grandchildren: Jada, Leighton, Dezz; brother Frank Henderson; sister Vivian Banton; her dog Dexter; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by her sisters-in-law Edna Saunders and Joan Henderson, and best friends Pauline Long and Charlotte LeBlanc.
Lorraine gave back to her community by volunteering at Romero House. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, tending to her garden, caring for her grandchildren, and travelling all over the world.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2J 2G3; (506) 646-2425. Visitation for Lorraine will be on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 2:00 PM; interment will directly follow at Fernhill Cemetery.
