1936-2024
Léopold Cormier, 88, of Saint-Antoine, passed away peacefully,
surrounded by his family at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital,
Sainte-Anne-de-Kent on Monday August 19, 2024. He was married to
Alfreda (Melanson) Cormier. Born in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, he was the
son of the late Adolphe and the late Ida (LeBlanc) Cormier.
Léopold was a Drywall taper by trade. With his charm and his
Witt, he was well like by many. He will be missed by all his friends
and some were very special to him.
He will be sadly missed by his wife; Alfreda (Melanson) Cormier, his
four children; Lisette Graff (Murray), Lillianne Dunstall (Scott) of
New Hamburg, ON, Joanne Berg (Jonathan), Daniel (Trudy) of Kitchener,
ON, his twelve grandchildren; Stacey, Melissa, David, Danielle,
Chantalle, Kyle, Shane, Donovan, Morgan, Connor, Kendra and Jade as
well as sixteen great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his
three sisters; Odette Cormier, Zella Robinson of Saint-Antoine,
Anne-Marie Girouard (Aurèle) of Saint-Joseph-de-Kent, one
brother; René (Ernestine) of Irishtown and several nephews and
nieces.
He was predeceased by four brothers; Léonard, Arice, Hervé,
Ulysse and two sisters; Rosée and Diana.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Antoine l’Ermite Roman
Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Antoine on Monday August 26, 2024
from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the
Saint-Antoine Church on Monday August 26, 2024 at 11:00 am, with
internment in the parish cemetery.
In Léopold’s memory, donations may be made to the Foyer
Saint-Antoine or to the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital,
Sainte-Anne-de-Kent.
