RICHIBUCTO, NB – Leonard Chamberlain 83, of
Richibucto passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital in
Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Born in
Bathurst, he was the son of the late Alvin Chamberlain and late Albina
(Haché) Chamberlain. Before retiring, Leonard was
a self employed as a businessman, he loved to quit with his wife
Annette, make maple syrup and go hunting.
Leonard will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 29 years,
Annette (Mazerolle) Blanchard; two daughters, Diane Doucette (Donald)
of Bathurst, Denise Chamberlain of Bathurst; two sons, Roger
Chamberlain (Diane) of Saint John, Roland Chamberlain of Ontario; two
step daughters, Tina Landry (Clarence) of Shediac, Elaine Pellerin
(Charles) of St. Norbert; four grandchildren, Christian (Ashley),
Catherine (Justin), Kayla (Michel), Jean-Luc (Cassandre) and four
great grandchildren, Blake, Jackson, Ellie and
Madison.
He is also survived by three sisters, Angeline Sill (late
Kent) of Nova Scotia, Sr. Léona Chamberlain of Montreal,
Yvonne Boudreau (late Rodrigue «Rocky») of Bathurst; four
brothers, Emile Chamberlain (Nancy), Patrick Chamberlain (Rachelle),
Albenie Chamberlain (Linda), Omer Chamberlain all of Bathurst;
brother-in-law, Gerald Boucher of Halifax; special friends, Andrea and
Rose; life long friends, Marc and Denise Robichaud and many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by the mother of his
children, Jacqueline (Gionet) Chamberlain; one sister, Evelyne and one
brother, Wilfred.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home or funeral
mass. A graveside service will be held and announced at a
later date. The family wish to express a sincere thank you to the
staff at Foyer Bois Joli; the staff at the Stella Maris Hospital and
to Thompson’s Funeral Home for the kind and compassionate
care of Leonard.
