It is with broken hearts that the family of Lenora Strang Mackey of Catalina, formerly of Lawn, announce her passing. Lenora passed away at the Bonavista Peninsula Health Centre on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the age of 73.
Lenora was predeceased by parents George and Rosalie Strang; parents-in-law Joseph and Jane Mackey; brothers, Andrew, Alonzo, Ferd, Carl and Tom (Betty)- all from Lawn; along with additional members of the Strang and Mackey families.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons: Lee (Jackie) of Edmonton, formerly of Catalina, Mitchell of Edmonton, formerly of Catalina; her beautiful grandchildren, twins Brooke and Karter; the father of her children, James; brothers: James (Lorraine), George, Emmanuel (Alice). Winston, Stephen (Heather); sisters: Ruth (Andrew) and Ruby; sisters-in-law, Ruby Morgan Strang and Barbara Strang; plus a great number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Bonavista Health Centre for her excellent care. We would like to especially thank Dr. Brenda Penny and nurse Terri-Lynn Short for their excellent care of Lenora during her illness. They went above and beyond for her. We will always remember them. Thanks to the Mackey and Strang families who helped during this time. Also, thank you to her friend Marie who was always very good to her. A special thank you to Mrs. Anita Lane who was always there for Lenora from the beginning to the very end, your kindness will never be forgotten, she really appreciated you. A sincere thank you to anyone who has helped Lenora on this journey, it was appreciated.
A funeral mass will take place in Lawn on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 2:00pm.
Inurnment to follow at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic cemetery in Lawn.
