Belore, Leigh Arnold
April 11, 1954 – June 29, 2024
It’s with Great sadness that we announce the passing of Leigh Arnold Belore.
On Saturday, June 29, 2024, at home, surrounded by his family, Leigh peacefully passed away.
In 2018 Leigh had a heart transplant and since then he has been struggling with the challenges associated with this, he never complained, and he always had Lee-Anne by his side, accompanying him through each day until his passing.
As he now lay in peace, free from the pain and suffering, Leigh leaves behind his partner Lee-Anne, his sons, Jamie (Kerry), Tom (Ashley).
He will be missed dearly by his grandchildren, Cohen, Tanner, Tyler (Amy), Ava and Addison.
He is survived by his mother Janet Belore and brother Gerry.
Predeceased by his Father Arnold Belore.
He will never be forgotten by his niece Caitlin and nephew Jesse, who have always had a special bond with “Uncle Leigh”.
Leigh is certain to leave a void with his many close friends, relatives and business associates.
Leigh grew up in Mt Elgin, Ontario and at the young age of 17, moved in with his uncle Bunn and started working for his grandfather Irvin Prouse of Prouse Transport.
From there he went on to Franklin Sandblasting and Painting to learn his future trade, of which he continued for several years, until he decided to start a new venture, Belore Trailers.
When Leigh started Belore Trailers his focus was on the Ontario Horse Racing Industry, offering sales, repairs and exceptional customer service. Leigh always offered assistance to the horseman, either repairing their trailer at the last minute, loaning them one when in need, or picking them up on the highway when they had broken down, even offering them a stall at home until he could get them back on the road.
Leigh was the “Salt of the Earth”, the true meaning of a gentleman, where a handshake always “sealed the deal”. He never hesitated to go out of his way to help someone, and you always knew if you called Leigh, you could count on him.
As the Racing economy changed, so did Leigh, he became more creative and expanded his already successful business to cater to the dairy and cattle farmers, specializing in trailers for the Canadian Armed Forces, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and just about any one that needed to haul something.
As the years passed, Leigh involved his sons Jamie and Tom into the business. He provided them with his experience, and knowledge, instilling his work ethic, dedication and commitment, enabling him to guide them in the direction, to carry on his legacy with success.
Although Leigh was humbly proud of Belore Trailers, he never hesitated to share with anyone, that his greatest achievement, was that of his two sons, Jamie and Tom.
In his younger years, he loved to go four wheeling with the guys, snowmobiling or driving his ’47 Ford.
Later on, he enjoyed sitting at the pond with his 2 Boxer Boys, Bullet and Saga or taking them for a ride on the Ranger.
In the recent years Leigh took a step back from the business allowing his sons to shine, yet remaining ever present, in case they were in need.
With a caring smile and a gentle soul, Leigh was deeply loved by all, and he will be greatly missed.
All arrangements entrusted to Arn-Lockie Funeral Home, Norwich, ON. 519-863-3020. Cremation has taken place. No service will be offered. Donations in memory of Leigh, may be made to the Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary.
A Celebration of Leigh’s Life will be held on the family farm, “At the Pond” on Saturday, July 27, 2024 starting at 4 P.M.
