It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lee Sew Ying WAN YAN LUN in her 93rd year. Lee Sew Ying, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, May 17th, 2024, at the McKenney Creek Hospice Residence, British Columbia, Canada.
Born on December 22nd, 1930, in Meixian, China, Lee Sew Ying was the beloved wife of 63 years of Alico Wan Yan Lun WAN SAI CHEONG, who predeceased her nearly 14 years ago. They met when he was 27 and she 17, marrying in 1947. Lee Sew Ying was a devoted wife, mother to twelve children, grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and great-grandmother to eight great grandchildren. She was known for her devotion to her family, her deep faith in Jesus Christ, her tenacity and resourcefulness in raising her family, her culinary skills, her calm demeanor, generosity and unconditional love for others. Her legacy – strong morals, faith, values, and ethics – imparted to her family, unwritten but exemplified by the way she lived her life, will live on forever.
She is survived by her children: Chantal and her husband Cyril Honglin of Milton, ON; Jacques Wan and his wife Jane of Vancouver, BC; Joe Wan of Mauritius; Mary Jane and her husband Willy Li To Lun of Mississauga, ON; Genevieve (Lily) and her husband Cyril Li Chew Pan of Mauritius; Jean-Yves Wan of Vancouver, BC; late Patrick Wan and his wife Peggy of Taipei, Taiwan; Francois Wan and his wife Fortune of Vancouver, BC; Steve Wan and his wife Basia of Virginia, USA; and Claire Wan of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Predeceased by children Ah-Men Shiong, Ah-Yune Shiong and Ah-Nuen Shiong (Patrick).
Family and friends will be received at the McKersie & Early Funeral Home, 114 Main Street East, Milton, ON L9T 1N5,
on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024, from 5:00-9:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the St. Benedict’s Parish, 300 Yates Drive, ON L9T 2W3, with Father John Ha officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Milton, where Lee Sew Ying will be reunited and laid to rest next to her husband, Alico.
