Beloved Joan LeClaire (Nee Goodleaf) from Kahnawake Mohawk Territory passed away peacefully at the Kateri Memorial Hospital at the gage of 89 on February 20th, 2024. She was surrounded by her children & close family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Annie & James Goodleaf and brother Clarence, husband Richard LeClaire and son Brian (Hilda).
She leaves behind her children, Michael (Nancy), Darren (Marion), Rick, Carlene (Craig), her grandchildren, Michael Austin (Morgan) and Jade (Karonhiio), her great-grandsons Cain and Terrence (Amanda), her great-granddaughters Tenesse Rose, Kawenni:io (Kanerahtontie) and Nashton (Shateiohseriio). She also leaves behind her niece Tracey and nephew Kenny & Mark as well as many other relatives and friends.
As per the wishes of Joan Goodleaf, following her death there will be no viewing. At a later date, the family will have a Memorial service at St-Francis Xavier Church. Following the mass her ashes will be buried at the Catholic cemetery where she will lay to rest with her parents.
A special thank you to all the staff at the Kateri Memorial Hospital and the good care they provided .
