Leanne “Yan” Marie Hill passed away peacefully on October 13, 2023, surrounded by family in her hometown of Cobourg at the age of 46.
Leanne is survived by her mother Suzanne; father Bob; partner Chris “Avis”; parents-in-law Peter and Mary; brother John, sister-in-law Sheila, niece Abbie, nephew Ben; brother Chris, sister-in-law Cathy; French Bulldogs Lewis and Gary as well as numerous relatives and close friends from all her adventures in life. She was predeceased by sister-in-law Kirsty.
Leanne was born on November 28, 1976, in Cobourg, Ontario. She graduated from Queens University in 1999 with a degree in Commerce. She pursued a successful career in the travel industry, most recently as an award-winning Strategic Account Manager at Royal Caribbean.
She met her partner Chris in Vancouver in 2011. They chose North Vancouver as their home base, where they took full advantage of the outdoors with Lewis and Gary always in tow.
Leanne was passionate above all else about family, travel, and her ‘poochies’. She was fortunate to have built a life that allowed her to prioritize all three, and loved capturing her life through her camera. She was a jet setter, experiencing over 50 countries, always building a layover into her itinerary which would allow her to spend quality time with her family before returning to Chris and the pups in advance of her next adventure.
All who knew Leanne would characterize her as bubbly, kind, generous and loving. She had a big personality and lived her life fully and fearlessly. She was taken from us far too early and will be missed dearly.
Her service will be held on Sunday, October 22 at 1:00pm at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E. Cobourg, followed by a celebration of life reception from 2:00pm – 4:00pm in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Leanne’s life. We will also live stream the service at www.MacCoubrey.com for all those across the globe that are unable to attend in person.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, donate platelets through Canadian Blood Services, or donate old bedding and towels to your local animal shelter.
