Lawrence (Larry) Joseph Morriseau
March 18, 1944 – November 21, 2023.
It is with great sadness that the family of Lawrence (Larry) Joseph Morriseau, 79 years old passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by those who loved him dearly on the morning of Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Larry was born on March 18, 1944, in Jellico, Ontario to Bernard and Lila Morriseau. Later in life Larry moved to Fort William First Nation where he met the love of his life Judith (Judy) Pelletier, whom he married on October 31, 1964, and spent the next 59 years together growing, nurturing, and loving their family. He worked for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool where he met many friends before retiring 35 years later. He was a devoted Catholic and a beloved member of St. Anne’s Church. Larry was an avid hockey player who loved everything about the game whether playing or watching and giving advice to those he taught. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. As well as taking walks in the woods with Judy; especially in the fall as it was his favorite time of year.
Larry is survived by his Wife Judy, Daughters: Sandy, Kelly (Darcy), Son Andrew (Kim), Siblings Ronald, Peter, Paul (Faye), Greg (Elizabeth), James, Yvonne, Donna (Maurice), Paulette (Dennis), Joanne (Brian), Bruce, 11 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Larry is predeceased by his Parents Bernard and Lila Morriseau, In-laws Frank &
Kathleen Pelletier, Siblings Annette, Mary, Raezane, Joe, William, Richard and David. Reunited with his Son Brian and Great Grandson Billie-Cole.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 11:00 am in St. Anne’s Mission Church, FWFN, celebrated by Rev. Gerald McDougall s.j. Interment to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, FWFN. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in St. Anne’s Mission Church, with Vigil Prayers being offered at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay or the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
