It ia with great sadness we announce the passing of Lawrence (Larry) Beverly Phillips (The Goose). Larry was born in Larder Lake, ON on the 16th of November, 1941 and passed away in Powell River, BC Thursday, February 29, 2024. He has spent the last 41 years with the love of his life Mary Anne Hatch. His career in Metal Works and Fabrication took him from Victoria to Edmonton to Powell River. He was also involved with setting up and troubleshooting problems in OSB Mills in the USA, Scotland and Canada. He retired at the age of 68 but still kept a busy pace helping neigbours, landscaping, maintaining the cabin, and giving friends a hand with their projects. He was also very much a sports enthusiast playing and watching golf, horseshoes, darts, fast pitch, fishing on Powell Lake and out in the ocean. His one treasure that everyone wanted to share is the cabin on the Lake. Family, friends and the cousins came out on a regular basis to enjoy the awesome experience of time with Lary and Mary Anne at the cabin with its star lit nights, loons calling across the lake and Larry’s organ playing out on the deck, all those memorable toons. We are all the richer for having spent time enjoying the hospitality of Larry and Mary Anne. He also had a love for animals.
Larry is survivied by Mary Anne Hatch, Terri Thompson (Dru, Mia, Keela), (son Craig, deceased), Tanis Hatch (Kyle), Brenda (Rick) and Raab (Kelsey). Also survivied by siblings (James Phillips, deceased), Delores, Patricia (Paul) Cerisano, Dale (Laura) Phillips, Anne Earl, (Ron, deceased), (Bryan Phillips, deceased), Susan, Shane (Lorena) Phillips and Tod (Whitney) Phillips. 5 great grandchildren Lumen, Maevyn, Amelia, Matthew and Jack. Predeceased by parents James Alfred William (Naylor) Phillips and Doris Mae Prete.
