Peacefully, on November 19, 2024, at Bluewater Health, Laurie Westgate passed away at the age of 72. Beloved wife of Brian Westgate for 44 years. Loving mother to daughter Heather (Chris) Smith and son Ian (Margo) Westgate. Cherished grandmother of Emily, Clarissa, and Isla. Treasured sister of Sandy (Brian) and Jeff (Jocelyn). Predeceased by her parents Harold and Ruth (nee Bolton) Walker and by her fur children Madison and McCartney (big Beatles fan). She grew up in Scarborough, but loved her 45 years bringing up a family, and the good friends she made, in the smaller city of Sarnia. Laurie was an avid reader. Exercise, long walks, and Yoga were important to her for many years. She had many other interests including music, Egyptian history, Outlander and travel to name a few. Her most favourite thing in her last few years was to sit on the patio, admire her gardens, and reflect on how lucky we had been. Accompanied by a glass of a good dry red wine. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Bluewater Health Foundation or Alzheimer Society Sarnia-Lambton (cheques only at the funeral home please).
