BRADY, Laurie Lynn, born August 29, 1961
Laurie Brady, 63, passed away peacefully in her sleep during the early morning hours of Saturday, October 12th, at the Tillsonburg Hospital, with her daughter by her side.
Laurie was predeceased by her parents, Isabella and Charlie Packham; her nephew, Adam Gibson; and her brother-in-law, Bill Teslak. She is survived by her two cherished daughters, Jamie O’Leary (Graedon) and Nicole O’Leary, as well as her beloved dog, Rosie. Laurie also leaves behind her four older sisters: Karen Gibson, Kim Teslak, Darlene (Rick) Durston, and Kathy (Ray) Vanderwoude. She was a loving and treasured aunt to all her nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many. She will be remembered fondly by her cousins and extended family.
A lifelong resident of Oxford County, Laurie was born and raised in Ingersoll. She spent much of her adult life in Woodstock before moving to Tillsonburg in her later years. Laurie was warm, bright, funny, and welcoming, with a straightforward, no-nonsense attitude. People were drawn to her authenticity and fun-loving nature; the family often joked that she never met a stranger.
Laurie loved the simple pleasures in life—a glass of wine on the deck with a friend, calls and visits with her daughters, cuddles on the couch with Rosie, and her nightly video chats with her sisters, Darlene (Goog) and Kathy. She valued relationships above all else, measuring the quality of her life by the connections she nurtured.
The space she leaves behind will never be filled, but she will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, in the faces and humour of her sisters, and in the strength of her daughters. Rest easy, Mom; we love you to the moon and back.
The family extends special thanks to those who supported Laurie in her final weeks, especially her lifelong friend Ann Moulton, her bestie Arlene Wright and her «angel,» Tammy Pasek.
There will be no funeral. The family will host a celebration of life, on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 1-4pm at the Beachville Legion (Royal Canadian Legion Branch 495) 434852 Zorra Line Beachville, Ontario. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, if so inclined, the family would appreciate donations be made to Sakura House. Laurie felt passionately about Sakura House and everything they stand for.
