Miles, Laurette (Vien)
Passed away peacefully in her 77th year on July 6th, 2024 at Wellington Park Care Centre with her loving family at her side. Lovingly remembered by her partner of 45 years, David, her children Kyle (Michelle), Leah (Andrew), grandchildren Claire, Bodhi, and Eli, siblings, Will (Dawn), twin brother Larry (Carol), sister in law Bonnie (Allan), and sister in law Susan (Elwood). Laurette is predeceased by her mother, Marie Jeanne (Grimmard), her father Francis Vien, brother Leo (Elaine), sister Theresa (Gerry), and sister in law Victoria (John).
Laurette was a loving mother and wife. She was very proud of her Metis, French Canadian background and at her core, was her passion for music. Laurette loved to sing whenever and wherever she could. She cherished folk music and singing with her brother Larry as he played his guitar. Laurette had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, especially enjoying road trips and her time spent in Jasper, Alberta, as a young woman. Laurette had a caring nature which lead her to her professional pursuits in her careers as a hostess, (notably Jasper Park Lodge), a flight attendant for WardAir and her educational assistant role supporting students with diverse learning needs later in life at the Hamilton Board of Education.
We are very thankful and appreciative for the loving care provided to both Laurette and her family over the past year by the staff of Wellington Park Care Center in Burlington.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington, Ont. A private cremation has taken place.
Public memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. followed by a religious memorial service in the on-site chapel from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12th, 2024.
