(May 15th,1931- September 5th, 2024)
Dasilveira, Laura Lemos passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital on September 5th, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Beira, São Jorge and predeceased by her dearly beloved husband José, she was the last of thirteen siblings.
Loving mother of Maggie (Edgar Duarte), she will be dearly missed by her two grandchildren Christopher and Ashley (Kyle Stitt) and her two great-grandchildren Holland and Marlowe. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the excellent care and compassion given at St. Vincent Hospital, her very dedicated family physician Dr. Shamal Wijay and the amazing staff at Queenswood Villa, her home for the last five years.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway), Ottawa, on Wednesday, September 11th from 4pm to 8pm.
Funeral mass will be held at Senhor Santo Cristo Parish (1100 Kenaston Street, Ottawa) on September 12th at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Beechwood Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.
