It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of Laura Helen Smith, age 92 of
Amherst. Helen passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the Cumberland
Regional Health Care Centre.
Born in Little River, NS, she was a
daughter of the late Ernest Harold and Phoebe (Van Buskirk)
Reid.
Helen was a long time member of Trinity
– St. Stephen’s United Church, a member of the U.C.W. Unit #1 for 60
years, and a member of the Pythian Sisters.
Helen will be dearly missed by her son,
Breen (Marlene) of Summerside PEI; grandson Josh and his wife Jill,
their children Quinn and Finley of Shediac Cape, NB and grandson Caleb
and his wife Kristie, their children Nora and Lyndon of Summerside,
PEI.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by her husband Robert «Bob» Owen Smith and brother Carmen
Reid.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of the Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777)
where a funeral service will take place Wednesday, May 15th, 2024 at 2
PM.
Donations in Helen’s memory may be made
to The Cumberland Hospice and Palliative Care Society.
