It is with profound sadness that we
announce the passing of Launa Roberta
Dickie, on Friday, May 26 at the Cumberland Regional
Health Center.
Born in River Philip, NS, Launa was the
daughter of the late Byron and Rachel (Power) Matheson.
Launa was an amazing mom, grandma/nana,
and great grandma. She loved family get togethers, be it a holiday
dinner or an outdoor gathering. Launa was a huge Blue Jay
fan from the very beginning, even attending a few
games.
Launa will be dearly missed by her
children; Marg, Milly (Don), Tom (Peg), Wendy (Derrick), Dora (Rob)
and daughter-in-law Chris; 19 grandchildren, and 30 great
grandchildren; sister Ione, and several nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by her husband Thomas, her sons Owen, Bob and Russ; her daughter and
son-in-law Linda and Mike; her brothers, Malcolm, Ray and Cliff and
sisters, Thelma, Orisy, Muriel, Leona, and Freda.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church
Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where a funeral service will be
held on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 at 3PM. A private family burial will
follow.
Donations in Launa’s memory may be made
to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetic
Association.
