Krikor Koko Vessoyan (August 22, 1939 – July 10, 2024)
It’s with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Krikor Koko Vessoyan on the morning of July 10 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family members and close friends.
Our family patriarch, Koko joins his parents Hagop and Mary Vessoyan, wife Nora, sister Simeh and brother Serop in heaven.
He will be greatly missed by his sons, daugthers-in-law, grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends at the Armenian Community Centre of Cambridge.
With his family, Koko fled war-torn Beirut in the summer of 1976 and arrived in Canada to build a better life.
He was a dedicated member and volunteer in the local Armenian community and church, giving his time and effort to the people whom he loved and cherished.
Koko will be fondly remembered for his unique sense of humour, his penchant for helping and serving others, dining with his loved ones, barbecuing, black coffee and Johnnie Walker Red Label scotch.
Thanks to all of his relatives and close friends who visited him while he was ill, and to all of the nurses and doctors who showed compassion during the difficult times.
Visitation will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 12 Blair Road in Cambridge, on Tuesday, July 16 starting at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Parklawn Cemetery in Cambridge.
In lieu of flowers we would appreciate donations to Sourp Nishan Armenian Church of Cambridge.
